James Grimes joined the firm in the fall of 2016 after completion of a clerkship with the Honorable Francis J. Vernoia, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, and having clerked at the law firm of Lanza & Lanza, LLP in Flemington, New Jersey. Jim earned his B.A. in Political Science from Rutgers University, New Brunswick and graduated cum laude from Rutgers School of Law, Newark, where he served as Managing Editor of Rutgers Law Review. Jim interned at the Pro Bono Partnership in White Plians, New York. Jim’s past work has included preparing memoranda of law and legal opinions, including on the issues of real estate tax, zoning restrictions, inverse condemnation, and easement disputes. Jim has also drafted estate plans and transactional and business documents. Jim focuses his practice in transactional matters, primarily supporting the firm’s real estate, estate planning, probate, business, land use and zoning, and farming matters.
Jim is a native of Hunterdon County, born and raised in Delaware Township on his family’s tree farm.
