As many of you know, I am very involved with Volunteer Guardianship One on One, here in Hunterdon County. Volunteer Guardianship finds and trains local volunteers to act as guardians for those who have no family to act on their behalf. It fills a significant need, and I find my involvement emotionally rewarding.
Volunteer Guardianship holds various education programs throughout the year for its volunteer guardians. We open these to the public, because we know that many people out there are assisting elderly relatives and they need support as well. The next series will be held at the Hunterdon Medical Center’s auditorium, in Flemington, and all programs are free of charge. They are as follows:
April 13, 2016: “Hoarding-What You Should Know”and “Cleaning out the Hoarder’s Home”.

April 20, 2016: “Coping with Caregiver Stress” and “Medications for the Alzheimer’s Patient”.
